A Friendly Tax Season Update for Our Residents
1/12/2026
Friendly Reminder to Our Residents
It is currently tax bill season, and our office is experiencing a high volume of activity with an influx of bills coming in daily. We are processing payments as they are received, and we truly appreciate your patience as we work carefully to ensure everything is handled accurately.
Address Changes
Any address change questions must be directed to the Assessor’s Office.
Please email Amanda at assessor@hagueny.gov with a copy of your address change form, or you are welcome to kindly fill out a form at our front desk.
A Quick Note About Our Office
We are a small office processing over 1,700 tax bills, and it’s very important to us that each one is handled correctly and without error. If your payment has been mailed, it will be processed based on the postmark date. Please note that the post office does have new rules regarding postmarks; please contact your local post office for more information.
Payment Reminders
• Cash payments must be made in exact change
• When paying by check, please double-check that:
-
The correct amount is written
-
Your parcel address or parcel number is included
-
The bill number is listed
-
The check is signed
🔍 Important Identification Note
If we are unable to identify the check to a specific property, the payment may be delayed and could result in returned funds.
These small steps go a long way in helping us process your bill in a timely manner.
Thank you so much for your understanding and for bearing with us during this busy season — we truly appreciate our community!
